Young Radiowaves reporters will, again, be out and about during SLF, interviewing speakers and presenters.

Pupils from 2 schools in Fife will record, edit and publish their interviews live from the SECC. The schools were chosen from the winners of the End of Term Awards 2009.

Examples of previous work

Pupils were asked to create an audio documentary about environmental issues. They scripted, recorded and edited these pieces with music and sound effects.

  • The Future is Unwritten: Rimbleton Primary School
  • Don’t Break My Heart!: Kirkcaldy High School

We look forward to hearing the results this year.

Jesse Rae and Brick FM will be broadcasting live by ISDN from the Scottish Learning Festival 2008.

Presented by the ‘POWER GROUP’ of two schools in the Borders (One primary and one secondary), they will turn the SECC into a Global Radio Station, connecting with schools as far away as Africa and the USA. Individuals or groups of students from other countries will be invited to take turns at presenting their own programmes. This will be in the form of reading, singing, music and in their own language.
The ‘POWER GROUP’ back in Scotland will record the Global shows in real time and cut live to CD for the broadcast around Glasgow area on Brick FM 105.5 FM.

A live feed will be available via the Scottish Learning Festival website during the event and Jesse Rae will present the seminar ‘Be yer sel’ on Wednesday 24 September at 1.30 pm.
