The Merchant City Festival runs from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September, City Centre, Glasgow
For those of you visiting Glasgow for the Learning Festival, why not extend your stay to take in the wide variety of international performances and exhibitions that are in the Merchant City Festival programme.
There is an urban feel to the festival, that includes street theatre, music, dance, comedy and visual arts. In addition, there will be the return of the hugely popular French Market in Candleriggs.

MoreNow that schools are back, your delegate badge and seminar tickets will be mailed out shortly. Monday 1 September is the last chance for you to amend your registration details before your badge and seminar tickets are mailed to you.
To add sessions or amend your registration details, visit the log-in page for registered users.
Also, online registration will close at midday on Tuesday 23rd September. Anyone wishing to book after this time will have to come along to the SECC and register onsite.

MoreJesse Rae and Brick FM will be broadcasting live by ISDN from the Scottish Learning Festival 2008.
Presented by the ‘POWER GROUP’ of two schools in the Borders (One primary and one secondary), they will turn the SECC into a Global Radio Station, connecting with schools as far away as Africa and the USA. Individuals or groups of students from other countries will be invited to take turns at presenting their own programmes. This will be in the form of reading, singing, music and in their own language.
The ‘POWER GROUP’ back in Scotland will record the Global shows in real time and cut live to CD for the broadcast around Glasgow area on Brick FM 105.5 FM.
A live feed will be available via the Scottish Learning Festival website during the event and Jesse Rae will present the seminar ‘Be yer sel’ on Wednesday 24 September at 1.30 pm.

MoreThe Scottish Cooking Bus will be stationed in the exhibition hall in the new Health and Wellbeing Zone on both days. A wide range of activities will take place on the bus, including pupil workshops. Further details to follow soon.
