Sore feet?
September 21st, 2006This year’s Scottish Learning Festival is now over.
What will you be taking away with you – apart from the sore feet (and maybe a bag of samples)?
What will you take back to the staffroom?
What has inspired you?

I picked up a number of good bits and pieces. I was particularly impressed with the Active Maths and Boardworks resources. I also really enjoyed Teachmeet. I found out about a number of interesting ideas here including jumpcut.com, mediastage, and some collaborative uses for second life. I think my short introduction on google earth and what you can do with it (GPS, overlays, geo-tagging etc…) went down quite well and I’m thinking about putting together a proposal to run a full scale seminar on this great free bit of software for SETT 2007 – what do you think?

Lots to see, lots to hear, lots to take back to school to try out.
I’ve just finished blogging this in greater detail @ my site if anyone’s interested…

I’ll be blogging some notes from the talks I attended. I figure if everyone did that, the result could be useful take on SETT events for:
- people who were there, but couldn’t get to everything
- people who couldn’t get there
- presenters/organisers, who’d get good feedback for improving next year
If by doing this we can generate debate, through blog comments, we could also help build up some new networks amongst those interested
I’ve also had this idea on the train back that it might be interesting to trawl through the ideas presented, and use them as criteria against which to monitor and evaluate Exc-el progress. Might be a bit crude, though…
