Event enquiries are arriving thick and fast

We have received a number of enquiries about the forthcoming regional events planned for May and June.  At the moment we are in the process of planning the events and hope to have dates and venues pinned down very shortly.  As soon as we have further details we will post them here.

Each of the Local Authorities will be invited to nominate a number of staff to attend.  It is hoped that there will be a healthy mix of practitioners from a variety of backgrounds, in addition to Local Authority managers responsible for quality improvement.

If you would like to attend one of the events, please keep an eye on the blog for further details of dates and venues.  It might be beneficial to register your interest with your head of establishment in advance.

It is extremely encouraging to receive so many enquiries.  Rest assured that we will keep you up to date with developments.  Thanks again for your interest!

I would be delighted to be able to attend the regional event nearest Glasgow if at all possible and hope you may consider my request. As HT of an urban school with the first natural play site within its grounds in the UK, I am keen to learn as much as possible about good practice in OL and to share my enthusiasm with like minded colleagues. OL is on my Improvement Plan for the coming session. I am delighted that your site is expanding to capture lots of exciting initiatives around the country.

Hi Liz, thanks for your interest in the regional events. I’m sorry it has taken a while for me to reply. The event for Glasgow will be held in renfrew and will be attended by six LA’s. Letters have been sent out to Directors of Education asking them to nominate people to attend. We have organised the events in theis way due to the limited spaces and the fact that several authorities will be present at each event. Could I suggest that you make your interest known to you authority. I am sorry I can not offer you a place directly, but we wanted to ensure that individual authorities had a say in who should attend.

Our nominations for the Aberdeen event will follow shortly. In the meantime have I missed the actual publication of “Curriculum for Excellence through Outdoor Learning”? or when is the launch date?

Glad to hear you will be attending the Aberdeen event. You have not missed the publication! “Curriculum for Excellence through Outdoor Learning” is being launched on 20 April and will have wide circulation thereafter. It can also be viewed or downloaded from the new online resource which also goes live on 20 April. See you in Aberdeen!

My colleagues and I will presenting a workshop at the Aberdeen and Dunfermline events on Metasaga. A what? A metasaga.

To find out more check out our wikispace http://metasaga.wikispaces.com/

Many of you will be interested in the page entitled Kirkwall which shows the 6 Metasagas made by the secondary pupils of each secondary school in Orkney but there is also plenty more to look at, including a video clip od teacher CPD metasaga.
