Spanish Embassy seeks UK teenager for Ruta Quetzal – BBVA

The Ruta Quetzal-BBVA is a major international adventure and cultural programme which takes teenagers from Spain, Europe, North and South America on a voyage of discovery to a Latin American country. The 2009 expedition will travel to Chile, following in the steps of 16th century Spanish explorer Juan Fernández.

Teachers of Spanish nominate one student (born 1992-1993 and in possession of a UK passport) to attend the fiesta /competition at the Instituto Cervantes in London on Friday 12 December.

A panel will select 30 candidates according to their competence in Spanish language and culture, physical fitness and commitment to their communities. The bank BBVA UK will cover the student’s travel expenses to and from London.

The UK representative will be chosen at the event on 12 December, with tapas and music, opportunities to meet other candidates and former winners, and the chance to win fantastic prizes.
