Does your school have the IT factor?

Comments: none

Becta, the government agency leading the national drive to improve learning through technology, has launched the ICT Excellence Awards 2008 to seek out the best and brightest schools that are using technology to help learners achieve.

The ICT Excellence Awards aims to identify and reward schools throughout the UK approaching ICT in outstanding or innovative ways, benefiting their whole community both inside and outside the school building.

By recognising whole-school best practice, these awards are closely aligned with Becta’s self-review framework and the ICT Mark. While rewarding the school as a whole, there will be a focus within the awards on those individuals leading change within the school and making an impact across it.

The deadline for entries is 30 April 2008. Schools and organisations that are shortlisted for an ICT Excellence Award 2008 will be visited by judges during June, July and September 2008. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in November 2008.

You can find more information on the ICT Excellence Awards on the Becta website.
