I am in one of the classes which is doing that. We did posters about him.

That’s great news Ross – do you think you could comment after Anthony’s chat next Friday and let us know what you thought of it?

6 schools in argyll & bute took part in the event and I’ve had some great feedback so far. Apart from the sound at the start being a bit dodgy due to one of the mics not working, I thought it went really well for a first event and GLOW did a great job streaming it. The chat afterwards was always going to be a bit of a free-for-all and I was chuckling when the system became overloaded. A victim of your own success! It was a fantastic event and we can’t wait for the next one.

I enjoyed the event but for my S2 classes an hour was too long to sit and listen. They did not all get AH humour and were horrified at comments about Grandmother! Half an hour of talk followed by half hour chat would be better. How soon till Glow hits Glasgow schools?

Marybank Primary in the Highlands were one of the few Highland Schools to take part in the event. We were very fortunate to be one of the very first schools to have their question answered during the live session! We have already taken part in a couple of other video link-ups (using the GLOW Highland Room) including a Q&A with Fiona Hyslop, Education Minister, to find out her favourite books (she even read to us!). We also communicate with our cluster school (Strathgarve Primary) from time to time using this same ‘vehicle’!
We look forward to any similar events and would be delighted to get involved again…can we make a request for Paul Jennings the Australian author?!!!!

Sally, that’s the format we’re using for the MG Harris Author Event on the 9th of June. I think you’re right that this will make it easier for the children to stay entertained :-)

Glow’s already in Glasgow – the pilot has started – and if you contact the key contact for Glow at Glasgow City Council he might be able to give some idea of when you can expect your login. You’ll find that information here:http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/glowscotland/localauthorities/glasgow/index.asp

    Hope that helps!
