The CPD Team are looking to improve the way that policy is developed and practice is shared and making even stronger links between the two. We are very keen to involve as wide a range of practitioners in our work as early as possible. How about this for a way to publish draft information and confer on its content? Here I am using the proposed guide to practice on Coaching & Mentoring as an example.

Papers (or thought-pieces) will be published in both PDF format (for downloading, printing and reading the good old-fashioned way) and in sections on the web site.

However, additional options will be:

• add a comment / suggest a change you want made
• read other people’s comments
• ask a question of the authors / editors
• get email alerts of activity on papers you are interested in.

The design is based on the excellent approach LTScotland take to publishing the Connected magazine, Connected Live. I am indebted to Patricia Kemp and all at Connected Live for this bit of inspiration!
