CPDMeet is the name the CPD Team uses for live CPD sessions on Glow. Generally they use Glow’s web conferencing technology, Glowmeet.
Each CPDMeet has its own CPDMeet page on Glow where would-be participants can see details, sign-up and interact before, during and after the CPDMeet.
Typically, each CPDMeet will be promoted in a variety of ways including CPDFind. CPDFind is the national database of CPD run by LTScotland and the National CPD Team.
Subject to permissions from the CPDMeet participants, the events are recorded and made available as an archive for follow-up work.
You can see forthcoming CPDMeets in the Online CPD library on CPDCentral

If you got your Glow password from anyone other than a local authority, (eg as a guest of LTScotland on CPDStepin) you will not be able to ‘see’ local information such as school and local authority sites.
In this case, you should let your local authority Glow contact know and ask if they can now issue you with a Glow user ID. You can find a list of Glow key contacts in Glow in your area page of LTScotland’s site. If he/she agrees please let LTScotland know. Your new ID details will be merged with your guest ID.

Most of the CPD funding available is devolved to local authorities. This can, of course, make it difficult for supply teachers and others not currently employed to access CPD.
Your first step should be to join CPDStepin. This is a professional community on Glow for supply, under-employed or unemployed teachers. See this CPDAnswers post for more details.
CPDFind contains a wide range of CPD opportunities and much of it is free. Just type in a CPD topic into the search box to get started.
Another option is to contact CPD managers from nearby local authorities to see if it is possible to attend CPD events. You will find an up-to-date list of CPD managers on the CPD Team website.

Yes, there are two ways you can access Glow
Option 1
Have you worked, or do you work, in a local authority? Your best bet is to request access from that local authority. This way you can access the local authority sites on Glow and all the national sites. Please note that not all local authorities are able to provide you with Glow usernames. To find the contact name for your identified local authority, please visit this GlowScotland page.
Option 2
If option 1 didn’t work for you then please apply for a guest username from LTScotland. Send an email to stepin@ltscotland.org.uk with the following details:
- full name (and current school if applicable)
- GTCS registration number
You will be asked to complete a short form and to agree to a code of practice. Because of important security checks, this may take a few days to turn around so please be patient. If everything goes to plan, you will be on Glow under the banner of Learning & Teaching Scotland.
Please email stepin@ltscotland.org.uk if you have any questions.
