What is I-share?

I-share is a standardised way of sharing in the Glow communities facilitated by the National CPD Team.

There are four Is you can share with colleagues in your CPD community: Issue, Idea, Insight and Interesting practice.

Wherever you see this symbol, you can upload your own I-share item and nearby will be a link to whatever has already been shared by colleagues in this community or CPD opportunity.

Using the I-share form is pretty straightforward but please contact Susan (s.lafferty@ltscotland.org.uk) if you need more help.

How long does the average user spend on a web page?

What is a +Glow event?

Comments: none

If you see this symbol on an agenda or an invite, it means the CPD event you are attending will be using Glow, so bring a laptop if you can! It may mean:

  • preparation for the event is happening on Glow
  • discussions are being recorded on a Glow group
  • other colleagues are accessing the event remotely using Glowmeet
  • there is a ‘back-channel’ discussion to the event using the Glowchat tool
  • resources will be accessed or added to Glowgroups during the event

Sometimes +Glow will be optional and sometimes not, so check with the organiser to be on the safe side!

Where will I get CPD for learning difficulties?

Comments: none

Here are some suggested steps:

  1. Your local authority CPD catalogue or coordinator may be able to help (you’ll find a list of them here). They may point you to the ASN specialist(s) for your area
  2. try searching for learning difficulties in CPDFind (the national database of CPD). There are providers who specialise in this area (eg the CALL centre)
  3. Visit the LTScotland Inclusive Education website

How do I find out more about what Glow can do for my CPD?

Comments: none

Glow offers tremendous collegiate potential for educators looking to develop further. For example:

  • using Glowmeet to collaborate with colleagues from all over Scotland and beyond
  • joining professional communities in Glowgroups
  • accessing CPDReflect to keep and share my CPD experiences

You can find out the state of play with Glow in your authority here.

Is there funding for international CPD opportunities?

Comments: none

There are a number of bodies in Scottish education who may be able to help. A good first step is to contact the International Education group at Learning and Teaching Scotland.

You may also want to try searching for international education in the CPDFind search page.
